Ryan Tyler Martinez works and lives in Los Angeles. He is the Assistant Chair of the School of Architecture at Woodbury University where he teaches graduate and undergraduate studios and seminars. Prior to his current academic appointment, he was a design faculty member at SCI-Arc, a lecturer at UC Berkeley College of Environmental Design, and taught at the BSSA in Mumbai, India. He is currently the 2018 - 2019 Director of the Wedge Gallery where he curates and organizes lectures, events and exhibitions for Woodbury University.

Before starting a small independent studio, Martinez worked at Gehry Partners, LLP. He is the co-founder of A One-Night Stand for Art & Architecture, an event and publication project for architecture. He received a Master of Architecture with distinction from SCI-Arc and a BA in Architecture and Art Studio from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
